Bcl-2 Expression in Normal, Hyperplasia and Adenocarcinoma of Endometrium

Abstract
To evaluate the expression of Bcl-2, known as a candidate apoptosis suppressor gene, of normal and pathologic endometrial lesion, immunohistochemical studies were carried out by using avidin-biotin complex immunoperoxidase technique in paraffin
embedded
tissue sections from 50 cases.
This studies consisted of 6 cases of early proliferative endometrium, 9 cases of late proliferative endometrium, 5 cases of early secretory endometrium, 10 cases of late secretory endometrium, 10 cases of cystic endometrial hyperplasia and 10
cases
of
endometrial adenocarcinoma including 3 cases of well differentiated type, 2 cases of moderate differentiated type, 3 cases of poorly differentiated type and 2 cases of adenosquamous carcinoma.
@ES The results were as follows:
@EN 1. Bc1-2 expression of proliferative endometrium was gradually increased from early proliferative phase to late proliferative phase.
2. Bc1-2 expression of secretory endoemtrium was lower than that of proliferative endometrium.
3. Bc1-2 expression of cystic endometrial hyperplasia was more heterogenous than that of proliferative endometrium.
4. Bc1-2 expression of endoemtrial adenocarcinoma depended upon the differentiation of cancer cell.
5. Therefore, authors suggested that Bc1-2 expression was associated with endometrial proliferation and carcinogenesis.
